Driving launch readiness through cross‑functional orchestration

A global pharmaceutical organization was preparing to launch a new therapy for a rare immunology disorder in the US, facing a crowded competitive landscape and awaiting regulatory approval. The initial challenge centered on orchestrating 20–25 functional experts across diverse disciplines, each with unique priorities and timelines, under a tight launch window. 

As the client approached approval and commercial launch milestones, new business priorities emerged, with a new product integration compounding the complexity and urgency of the initiative.

OUR SOLUTION

Beyond traditional PMO: From planning to delivery with adaptive, end‑to‑end leadership

To navigate these challenges efficiently, we deployed a cross disciplinary approach throughout the engagement. Initially, the focus was on providing end-to-end PMO support:

  • Refining the launch plan and timeline for readiness and execution
  • Organizing executive and cross-functional workstreams for effective communication and accountability
  • Identifying and mitigating risks to keep the project on track
  • Coordinating compliance reviews and supporting key events

As our client’s needs evolved, so did our support. Our client recognized the value we provided and expanded the scope to include:

  • Supply chain optimization to address emerging issues by aligning supply and logistics for the US commercial launch, supporting the transition of sample sizes and managing sample shipment logistics
  • Implementation of a channel strategy including the development of a patient hub and the resolution of data integrity challenges
  • Managing the integration of a new product into the client’s portfolio, ensuring both initiatives progressed smoothly
  • Preparing updates, tracking risks, and fostering coordination between the US and the Global teams

Over the nearly 2-year engagement, we became trusted advisors and integrated deeply within the client organization (akin to a Chief of Staff) helping the client resolve unforeseen challenges end-to-end, adapting to shifting priorities, and ensuring business continuity.

Our ability to adapt in real time and contribute across a broad range of challenges - from PMO to supply chain optimization, commercial strategy and operations, and integration planning - allowed us to add value well beyond the original scope and help the client achieve their strategic goals.
